Blogging Tips to Help New Bloggers

One of the things that I love to do is share blogging tips to help new bloggers improve their blog so that they can increase engagement. As you check out these tips, keep in mind that you don’t have to do them all at once. Take your time applying them and create a consistent flow of improvement.

Blogging Tip 1: Why is blogging important to the everyday person?

For those who want to communicate their message or connect with others in a given industry, blogging is definitely one way to do it. You can craft your blog so that you can easily share your knowledge as you educate your readers about a topic you are passionate about.

Now you are ready to engage others so that you can encourage them to comment on your posts and also to reshare it. Engagement is not just sharing your content, it is also commenting on the content that others share. Make sure to make your engagement consistent with a purpose of growing your circle of influence as you also support others.

Now another important thing for you to do is to also have a plan in place to grow your social media visibility. This means that you create an actionable plan to encourage others to share your blog post via social media. Here are a couple of ways you can do this…

Joining groups and communities that have a common interest in your topic. Connect with fellow members and discuss the topic. It’s not just about you sharing your posts like hit and miss. Make an effort to engage and connect.

Include social media share buttons on your blog post so that it will be easy for readers to reshare your post. Make sure that the buttons are visible on any browser whether desktop or mobile devices.

Blogging Tip 2: What type of blogs can be created?

Now that we have talked about why it is important, now let's get into the different types of blogs that you can create. The type of blog you create can also affect the amount of effort it might take to keep content fresh and appealing. Here are 3 types you can easily get started with…

  • Informative: this is where you make more of an effort to share helpful tips and strategies regarding your specific topic. This is one of the easiest types of blogs to get going. Types of blog content would be how-to, checklist, survey, statistics or infographic.
  • Video: when creating this type of a blog, will include videos in every blog post that you add along with words to explain the videos. This would include video types of how-to, product demos or even samples from your speaking gigs.
  • Portfolio: if you have a portfolio of art, image or even music, creating a portfolio blog will allow others to find you online, purchase your work or to help you grow your visibility online. Some even licenses their work to manufacturers to reproduce and sell.

Blogging Tips 3: How can bloggers interact with their readers?

Interacting with your blog's readers includes making sure that your blog's content flows smoothly. This means that your content willing include an issue it addresses and a solution to the issue. It is also helpful to include surveys or polls to find out what your target audience is thinking about the issue. Finally, include a call to action that will encourage your reader to take an action to address the issue.
