New England Patriots Want Fans to “Help Vince” in Massive Location-Based Trek
The New England Patriots are kicking off their 2010 season with a well-choreographed social media play designed to get fans engaged in a digital way. The team has used SCVNGR to build a “Help Vince” trek that tasks fans to hit the streets to find lineman Vince Wilfork's 2004 Super Bowl ring.
The “Help Vince” trek involves 200+ places that players will need to journey to as they search the city and beyond for the “lost” ring (which was said to be stolen by an angry Jets fan).
Each location comes with a new adventure and an opportunity to earn points, badges and prizes. The grand prize — a private lunch with a Patriots player — will go to the first person to find the ring.
