I recently subscribed to one of Lynn Terry’s mailing list and I have found that she shares a lot of information with her readers about Internet marketing. All the information is easy to understand and follow. She has a mailing list and also a forum that you can subscribe to to learn tips about Internet marketing.

One of the things I realized is that in order to be successful with my business that I need to put a support & outsourcing system in place. To me, both systems are made up of a group of people who help me ensure my business run smoothly. Such as…

• Virtual Assistant (VA): helps make sure that my administrative task are handled (Support)
• Audio/video editor: edits all audio & video that I create (Outsource)
• Content manager: ensure that the the content on my blogs and my customer blogs are current and relevant (Outsource)
• Business Mentor: help me determine best direction for my business (Support)
• Accountability partners: help ensure that I stay on target with business tasks (Support)
• Financial Mentor: help ensure that I handle my finances correctly (Support)
• Marketing Mentor: help me fine tune the branding for my companies (Support)
• Internet research: complete research on the internet regarding specific topics that I will write about (Outourse)

I have already started forming both systems and have been very impressed with what I have experienced so far. I’m still looking to fill a couple of these areas but until then, I will press forth toward my successful business makeover.

Yesterday I made a business decision to ask for accountability partners as part of my business makeover. I sent a request out to Twitterville* and three of my tweeples** answered back to let me know that they would hold me accountable. The three who will be my acccountability partners are Latara (@LataraHamYing), Christine (@neosoulsister), and Dee (@deegospel).

Why did I ask for accountability partners? I did this so that I will have someone who would check on me to make sure that I’m following through with my plans. It is always important that you not only have a mentor, who will guide you in the right direction, but you also need accountability partners, who will hold you accountable to what you have decided to do. Having accountability partners is not something new but if you don’t have at least one, you are doing yourself a disfavor.

When determining who your accountability partner should be, you should keep the following thing in mind:

• Have a plan first that you have created with your mentor
• Choose your accountability partners wisely
• Make sure that you trust your accountability partners
• Make a S.M.A.R.T.*** accountability schedule
• Be open to constructive feedback from your accountability partners
• HAVE FUN!

As I continue on my business makeover journey, I’m looking forward to having your feedback. So I have been giving thoughts to revamping the way I conduct my businesses and I decided it was time for me to do a Business Makeover. A Business Makeover would entail me revamping specific if not all areas of my businesses. I will be looking at what is making my business grow and what is causing my business to break.
